A wise man once said, 'Procrastination is the thief of time.' I saw Kevin once in nearly 40 years, and that is to my regret and disadvantage because he was genuinely one of the best men ever to walk amongst us. What came naturally to Kevin, was something others could only aspire to, and seek to emulate.
A neighbour and family friend, I will always have fond memories of Kevin, and thought he would be around for ever. Alas, life is finite, and in his passing, Kevin has taught me yet another lesson - when you respect and appreciate a friend, don't let that friendship languish.
But what is our loss is God's gain. He will have called Kevin to sit by his side for a reason, so we may take comfort that Kevin has his reward for a life well lived, and endless kindnesses to others.
RIP Kevin McFerran. Now at rest in God's good keeping.
